 Making of Cabbage Fufu

Cabbage fufu is a creative and nutritious twist on traditional Fufu, a staple food in many African culture. Fufu is typically made from boiled and starchy vegetables like cassava, yams or plantain.

Cabbage Fufu, on the other hand, uses cabbage as the primary ingredient, the cabbage is washed, cut into smaller pieces, mix with small amount of starch (oat) or flour and blend smoothly, pour in a pot on fire and start stirring until its comes together, the dough is now shaped into small balls or cylindrical shapes, similar to traditional Fufu.

Cabbage fufu has a unique texture and flavor profile, which is often described as:

  • Softer and more pliable than traditional fufu.
  • Mildly sweet and slightly bitter from the cabbage.
  • Neutral in flavor, making it a great accompaniment to various soups and stews.

Cabbage fufu is also packed with nutrients, including.

  • Vitamins C and K from the cabbage.
  • Fiber and antioxidants.
  • Lower in calories and carbohydrates compared to traditional fufu.
